Being the bad guy –Kids’ workshop

Have you ever wanted to really be the bad guy? To be merciless and just release your anger, rage and disappointment? Would you like to know what kind of bad things you can invent? Would you like to know what it feels like to be the worst? What it means to be bad? To be the bully of the class?
Last Saturday was the first meeting of our kids’ workshop I am (not) the bad guy. In this workshop kids will experiment with theater and cinema, in order to make their own movie in the end! There will be four two-hour-long meetings taking place on Saturday mornings, until March 15th.

kids_theater_cinema1Through role playing games, the kids will research the kind of consequences that certain actions or behaviors can have, although sometimes they appear appealing or necessary. The role game and the contact with the arts of theater and cinema will lead the kids to shooting a short movie, that the parents will receive as a gift!
The workshop instructors are Tasos Aggelopoulos, theater director and candidate lecturer of the Theater department of Aristotle University and Despoina Kaviri, cinema director and producer, graduate of the Cinema department of Aristotle University.
Through the stories they create, kids are encouraged to experience bad behavior. The research of the reasons we sometimes need to be bad will happen through non-violent methods.

This first meeting was met with great enthusiasm from the kids –they filled our space with voices and laughter. We are eager for next time!
